Terms & Conditions — Job Seekers

By ticking to accept these Terms during sign-up, or by otherwise creating an account or using VeriTradie (the "Platform", at veritradie.com.au) as a job seeker, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform. VeriTradie is operated Australia-wide by VeriTradie (ABN 85 323 766 214) of 27 Carl St, Woolloongabba, Brisbane QLD 4102 ("VeriTradie", "we", "us", "our").

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to create an account. By registering, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and current, and you'll keep it that way.

• Free to use: creating and using a job-seeker account, building your portfolio, and applying for jobs is free.
• Keep it secure: you're responsible for your login and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
• Suspension: we may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, provides false information, or is used to abuse, defraud or harass another user.

VeriTradie offers ways to verify qualifications, tickets and licences you add to your portfolio. None of these checks are a guarantee — see clause 4.3.

4.1 USI Registry verification

For qualifications you submit for "USI Registry" verification, you authorise VeriTradie to submit your full name and the document reference numbers from your VET transcript to the Australian Government's USI Registry authenticated-transcript service, on your behalf, solely to confirm that qualification. This is also subject to the USI Registry's own terms and conditions, which apply in addition to ours. We only run this check after you've given specific, recorded consent for that credential — not as part of general account use.

4.2 Card / licence photo verification

For qualifications verified by uploading a photo of a card, licence or certificate, we use automated text-recognition (OCR) technology running on our own servers to compare the printed details against what you entered. Your photo is processed in-house and is not sent to any third-party verification service for this check.

4.3 No guarantee

All verification checks are automated and best-effort. They may occasionally fail to confirm a genuine document, or in rare cases miss a discrepancy. A "Verified" badge means our checks did not identify a problem — it is not a guarantee of your qualifications, character, right to work, or fitness for a role.

• Two categories, handled differently: photos of your past work ("Portfolio") may be shown to Employers who have revealed your profile. Identity and credential proof documents — licences, ID, transcripts — are never shown to any other user, including a revealed Employer. They are only ever accessible to you and to VeriTradie staff performing verification review.
• Secure access only: all files are served through short-lived, time-limited links rather than public URLs.
• You control visibility: turning off "visible to Employers" stops ongoing access to your profile, credentials and photos for Employers who had previously revealed you — not just for new reveals.
• Your responsibility: only upload documents and photos you have the right to share, that are accurate and not misleading.

Employers spend credits to "reveal" a seeker's contact details, but only if you've opted to be visible to Employers. Being revealed lets that Employer see your contact details and message you — it doesn't give them any rights over your information beyond what's described here, and you can cut off that access at any time by switching your visibility off (clause 5).

Messaging is available once a connection exists with an Employer (for example, after a reveal, an application, or a reference-access request). Don't use messaging to harass, spam, or solicit users off-platform for unrelated purposes. We don't guarantee any user will respond.

You may invite a referee to submit a reference via a private, tokenised link. Referees confirm the information they submit is true to the best of their knowledge. VeriTradie may moderate or remove a reference that appears fraudulent, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate.

Content you upload (photos, profile text, messages, references) must not be unlawful, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or infringe anyone else's rights. Other users can report Portfolio content for review; we may remove reported or otherwise non-compliant content, and repeated breaches may result in account suspension.

• Advertising & sponsored content: the Platform may display advertising or sponsored content from third parties, including sponsored training-provider listings and homepage promotions. We are not responsible for the products, services or claims of third-party advertisers, and displaying an advertisement isn't an endorsement by VeriTradie.
• Your information stays yours: we only ever share your details with an advertiser or promotion partner where you've explicitly opted in (for example, ticking a specific marketing consent box as part of a promotion) — never automatically, and never as a condition of using the Platform.

You retain ownership of the content you upload, but grant VeriTradie a licence to host, display and use it as needed to operate the Platform (for example, showing your Portfolio to a revealed Employer). The VeriTradie name, logo and platform itself remain our property.

Our separate Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect — including ID documents and qualification records — and how we use, store and disclose it. By using the Platform you also agree to that Privacy Policy.

The Platform is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't guarantee you will find work. Verification checks are best-effort only (clause 4.3).

As job-seeker accounts are free, our liability to you is limited, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to AUD $100 or re-supplying the relevant part of the Platform, at our choice. Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or misuse of the verification or messaging features. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version with a new date, and material changes will be flagged to active users. Continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect means you accept them.

VeriTradie operates Australia-wide and these Terms apply to your use of the Platform wherever you are in Australia. These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
