VeriTradie

Privacy Policy

One shared policy covering Job Seekers, Employers and Training Provider Advertisers

Last updated 12 August 2026

1. Who this policy covers, and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who uses VeriTradie (veritradie.com.au) — job seekers, employers, and training provider advertisers on our Get Certified page. It's a single policy covering all three, with some sections relevant only to certain roles, clearly marked as such. VeriTradie is operated Australia-wide by VeriTradie (ABN 85 323 766 214) of 27 Carl St, Woolloongabba, Brisbane QLD 4102 ("VeriTradie", "we", "us", "our"). By using the Platform, you agree to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described here.

2. What personal information we collect

  • Account & profile information: your name, email, phone number, password, and account type (job seeker, employer, or training provider).
  • Job seeker portfolio: trade, skills, bio, location, work photos, employment preferences, working rights, education level, and qualifications/tickets/licences you add.
  • Employer & business information: company name, and ABN if you provide one (checked against the Australian Business Register).
  • Verification documents: photos of licences/cards, and USI VET transcripts with their document reference numbers — collected only when you submit a credential for verification. See clause 5 for how briefly we keep these.
  • CV and job application data: a structured snapshot of your profile at the time you apply for a job, plus any CV/cover letter file you upload — both shared with the employer you applied to.
  • Messages and references: content of messages you send through the Platform, and reference details submitted by a referee via a private invite link.
  • Payment information: handled by Stripe on our behalf — we don't collect or store your full card details ourselves.
  • Training provider (RTO) listing information: your business name, contact email, courses offered, states serviced, and website link.
  • Technical and usage information: device/browser information, pages visited, and click activity on sponsored Get Certified listings.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you create an account, build your profile, submit a credential, apply for a job, send a message, or set up a sponsored listing. Automatically, through cookies and similar technology (see clause 9). From third parties — specifically the Australian Business Register and the USI Registry — but only to run a specific check you've requested or consented to.

4. Why we collect and use it

To operate the Platform: creating and managing your account, matching seekers and employers, processing payments and credits, managing Get Certified sponsorships, verifying qualifications, sending you notifications, responding to support requests, and improving the Platform. We only use your information for marketing or advertising purposes where you've specifically opted in (clause 9).

5. Verification documents — collected briefly, then deleted

This is a specific commitment, not just a general statement

When you submit a qualification, ticket or licence for verification, we temporarily collect the supporting document — a photo of your card or licence, or your USI VET transcript and its document reference numbers — for the sole purpose of confirming it. Once that credential reaches a final outcome (verified or rejected), the supporting document is automatically deleted from our systems — whether that outcome was reached by an automated check or by manual review. We don't keep a copy once verification is complete. The credential record itself (its name, issuer, dates, and verification status) stays on your profile; the underlying document does not.

6. USI Registry checks

If you use USI Registry verification, we submit your full name and the document reference numbers from your transcript to the Australian Government's USI Registry, with your specific, recorded consent given at the time, solely to confirm that qualification. This is subject to the USI Registry's own privacy arrangements in addition to ours.

7. ABN and business register checks

If you provide an ABN, we check it against the Australian Business Register (ABR), a public Australian Government database. Because ABN registration is already public information, we retain your ABN and its verification status for as long as your account exists, rather than deleting it after the check like other verification documents.

8. Card/licence photo checks

Card and licence photos are processed in-house using automated text-recognition (OCR) technology on our own servers — they are not sent to any third-party verification service. See clause 5 for when these images are deleted.

9. Who we share your information with

We share personal information with:

  • Australian Business Register (ABR): for ABN lookups, as described in clause 7.
  • USI Registry (Australian Government): for qualification verification, only with your specific consent, as described in clause 6.
  • Stripe: to process payments (job posts, credit purchases, Get Certified sponsorship). Stripe may hold and process your payment information overseas as part of providing that service.
  • Resend: to send transactional and notification emails on our behalf (e.g. verification links, application updates, reference requests).
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram): we run the Meta Pixel on our site for ad measurement and targeting, as described in clause 10.
  • Other users: profile, credential and portfolio information is shared with other users as described in the relevant Terms & Conditions — for example, with an employer who has revealed your profile, or an employer/seeker you're messaging.
  • Training provider advertisers: we do not share your personal information with a Get Certified advertiser unless you've specifically opted in to that (for example, ticking a marketing consent box as part of a promotion).
  • Law enforcement or regulators: where required or authorised by law.

Overseas disclosure: some of the providers above (including Stripe, Resend, and Meta) may store or process your information outside Australia as part of providing their services to us.

10. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Meta Pixel

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality and for analytics and advertising. We run the Meta Pixel, which collects information about your visit to VeriTradie (such as pages viewed) and shares it with Meta to help us measure and improve our advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of personalised advertising through your Meta ad preferences at any time.

11. How we store and protect your information

Your information is stored using Supabase (secure cloud database and file storage). Private documents and photos are only ever accessed through short-lived, time-limited links rather than public URLs, and database access is restricted by row-level security so users can only see what they're entitled to. Access by VeriTradie staff is limited to what's needed for verification review, support, or platform administration.

12. How long we keep your information

Retention depends on the type of information:

InformationRetention
Verification documents (ID/licence photos, USI transcripts)Deleted immediately once the credential is verified or rejected (clause 5).
CV / job application dataKept as part of your job application history, since it's shared with the employer you applied to.
Messages and referencesKept while your account is active, and for 1 year after your account is closed, unless we need to keep them longer to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.
ABN / business registration detailsKept for as long as your account exists — this is already public information (clause 7).
Financial and transaction records (payments, credits, sponsorship billing)Kept for up to 7 years, in line with Australian tax and corporate recordkeeping obligations.
General account/profile dataKept while your account is active, and for 1 year after closure, unless a longer period applies above.

13. Your rights

You can access and correct most of your own information directly through your account. You can also contact us to request access to, correction of, or (where applicable) deletion of your personal information, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

14. Data breaches and complaints

If a data breach involving your personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we'll notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988.

If you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal information, contact us at admin@veritradie.com.au. We'll investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

15. Children

VeriTradie is not intended for use by anyone under 18, consistent with the eligibility requirements in our Terms & Conditions.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version with a new date, and material changes will be flagged to active users.
